Re the suicides question, off the top of my head...Othello, Cleopatra Charmian and Iras, Romeo, Juliet, Brutus, Cassius forces someone else to kill him, so basically a suicide, Ophelia probably, potentially Timon although it's not officially verified, Gloucester in Lear attempts but doesn't succeed, Posthumus in Cymbeline goes to war hoping to die, but then somehow lives anyways, Gertrude potentially, if you think she knew the cup was poisoned, Horatio attempts but is dissauded by Hamlet.

So, according to this account (only counting the successful suicides, of course), we have a total of 8.

From this answer, I have included Othello, Cleopatra, Charmian, Iras, Romeo, Juliet, Brutus, and Ophelia as actual suicides.  

I’m also adding Lady Macbeth, so the count is now 9.
